monster fleece hat

Here was my craft for the day, well I started last night and just finished it up. My 20 yr old daughter asked if I would make her a hat. So here it is. A little bulky but cute.

So here it is. I made a few boo boo's but all in all I think it came out great. I had to improvise on some of the fabric, the pattern on the fabric was in one direction and I didn't buy enough.

The pattern is Farbenmix Feliz Dress Pattern. This dress can grow with your child. It can be a tunic and then modified to a skirt. Of course this is a easter dress so I won't modify it. I found a great sew along for this pattern. I don't think I could have made it without the step by step instructions.

I found some really cute easter fabric at Joann's.

I met a friend and her boys at a petting zoo. Apparently they don't feed the animals enough. A horse ate one of the little boys straw hat and the goats charged us at the gate and jumped on me to get the food. Good times.

My model informs me "it's 2 big". Well good thing it's not for her. The pics don't do it justice. This came out fantastic. There is allot of detail. I think it would have been faster and easier if I would have used cotton, since I couldn't iron the seams it look a little longer to do. I'm very proud of this.

Birdie sling

I decided last night since it was going to rain today I would start this project. My oldest daughter requested a hobo bag and this was the pattern she chose. The material might not be the most practical but is sure to look great. I cleaned off the kitchen table and am ready to start.

I wanted to post this earlier in the week but didn't have time. I made cookies for Valentines day. They turned out FANTASTIC and yummy to.

For those of you who received cookies don't worry Caitlyn always makes and decorates her own batch. No toddler spit and goo.

Ok so I let things get to me. So I posted some pics of the projects I have been doing on my mommy group site(just showing off my work not looking for customers). A few ladies PM me and asked for custom shirts and wanted prices. I think I was competitive in my pricing. I basically said anything you can come up with I can do for $23 plus shipping. So one lady had the balls to tell me etsy and other home based places were way cheaper.

So why do I let this bother me???????????

Well it's been a busy week. I finished my birthday box, valentine projects and still managed to feed my family. My toddler finally slept last night with out a coughing up a lung, woooo hoooo.

I really love the birthday hat and shirt. They came out great.

The monsters are for a valentines gift.

The next projects are the purse for my oldest daughter and a Easter dress for my toddler. I bought some euro patterns a few months back and am dying to try one of them. I bought a stack of really cute material for the dress.

Got to love a sick kid

So it's 1 am I hear the toddler coughing then kind of choking. I get up to check on her so does hubby. She is out of her bed crying. She had coughed so hard that she puked up flem. I tell dad to take her into our room (big mistake) while I clean up the mess. If anyone cares it wasn't to bad. So I go to bed with hubby and toddler. She is wide awake and making noise. It's 2:15 am and dad takes her back to her room. It's 3:45 and now she is knocking on her door so I get up and take her to the guest / crap room. Oh I forgot at 1 am I quickly picked up the guest / crap room just in case. We both fell asleep. I got up at 7:45 she was still sleeping. I go downstairs only to see one of the dogs was having sympathy pains and puke in 4 spots. I let the toddler sleep till 9:30.

Ok so this is my first post. I have many projects going on right now. I need to finish the birthday box full of handmade goodies for my quasi niece and nephew. I also want to make sugar cookies to send to them and a friends little girl who is the same age as my little weird girl. My oldest daughter wanted my to make her a hobo bag so I bought the fabric today for that.
